Indicating that he has just sent him a parcel of books and prints; mentioning lunch with Oliver Simon and a quick viewing of "the 50 English & 50 American books" at the 1st Edition Club - "they beat us out, generally," and describing "the most magnificent thing there"--An Adam bookcase belonging to Huntington, head of Putnam's in London; mentioning having been invited to Mrs. Woodhouse's for lunch on Sunday, which he can't do.

Henry Watson Kent served as the first professional librarian of the Grolier Club from 1903 to 1906 and originated its classification scheme. He continued to serve the Club during the following decades through its Library, Publications and House committees, and its Council. From 1906 until his retirement in 1940 Kent was Secretary of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
